Areola Micropigmentation
When we think of tattoos, we usually associate them with body art. But areola micropigmentation is something far deeper—it’s a form of healing through art. It helps restore confidence, emotional well-being, and a sense of wholeness after a mastectomy or breast reconstruction.
As a Registered Nurse and paramedical oncological micropigmentation specialist, I am dedicated to helping individuals reclaim the most natural version of their body through advanced tattooing techniques designed specifically for healing.

Frequently Asked Question
What is Areola Micropigmentation?
This is a technique where pigment is deposited beneath the outer layer of the skin (epidermis) in the areola area, using a machine that works at approximately 3,000 movements per minute. The goal is to recreate the look of the nipple and areola in a realistic, customized way that complements your skin tone and body shape.
This procedure goes beyond aesthetics—it is a powerful emotional recovery tool.
What to expect?
What Kind of Pigments Do I Use?
Will I experience pain during the procedure?
No.98% of the time there is no pain in the reconstructed breast. For the other 2% we will apply a topical anesthetic so there is little to no pain.
Colour choice and size of my areola?
When you meet your artist, they will work with you to determine color and size by first drawing impermanently on the area. Planning Ahead
If you’re preparing for a mastectomy, there are a few simple steps you can take ahead of time to ensure the best possible results when the time comes for areola tattooing:
📸 Take clear pre-surgery photos of your breasts, including your nipples and areolas.
🎨 Observe and write down the color of your areolas.
📏 Note the size and proportion of your breasts and areolas.
Aftercare & What to Expect
Please note:
It is entirely normal for the pigment to appear significantly darker during the initial 7–10 days following your areola micropigmentation procedure. This is part of the natural healing process. As the skin regenerates, the pigment will soften and gradually reveal the final shade we carefully selected to harmonize with your skin tone.
